Creative hobbies are my personal favorite—not because most of my hobbies are creative, but because of how you can make things and use your creativity. These hobbies are ones that I feel people are impressed when you mention or show off what you make. They also take your mind off of things and relieve stress.
1. Photography
Despite everyone nowadays claiming to be a photographer, learning the art behind photography is a skill and hobby that is cool and requires time. You can start with your smartphone or digital camera and even invest in a professional backdrop as well.
2. Videography
Similar to photography, everyone knows how to edit a video. But videography and knowing how to edit videos well takes time and is a great way to spend your downtime if you love films or videos.
3. Painting
You’re not late to learn how to paint in your 20s. It’s a great hobby to try to explore your creativity and learn about the different kinds of painting styles out there. (I personally love watercolor, but it’s one of the hardest styles.)
4. Writing
Writing is a hobby I had since I was a teenager on Wattpad. Yes, I had a Wattpad era, and was kinda popular, LOL. But I still write a lot and love it. It was a form of escapism for me from my dull life.
Writing is a versatile hobby and can be done in many different formats. You don’t have to write the next best-selling novel if that isn’t your style. You can write a sentence about your favorite food or write poems.

Okay, hear me out. I know knitting sounds like an old fashion hobby that people’s grandparents do. But think about the chunky blankets and fluffy scarves you can make. Crocheting at one point became so popular that I now see random crochet tops in the mall. It can stitch away stress, too.

1. Social media content creation
Everyone is trying to tap into the influencer market (which will only increase in the next coming years). If you are consistent enough and grow an audience, you can get brand deals or sponsorships and even free samples. Aside from that, you can be creative and talk about what you like.
2. Blogging
Even though it takes time to earn money, plenty of bloggers and niche website owners make an income. However, if you want to start a blog just for yourself, you can start your old WordPress.com blog or Tumblr blog and post there.

Tech is only going to grow, and soon most people will need to know some coding. (Even I know some HTML and basic coding to run this site!) But if you want to pivot into tech, begin learning how to code.

This hobby/side hustle is one that has given me money throughout college. Copywriting isn’t as easy as these gurus make it out to be. It combines writing, editing, sales, and marketing. 25 Fun/Relaxing Hobbies So You Can Chill
Not every hobby needs to be money-focused or make you sweat. Sometimes you need a hobby to unwind and have fun. These activities are more laid back. Some hobbies from the previous categories can also count as chill hobbies, but it all depends on how you view them.
1. Watching TV
Yes, watching TV can be a hobby. Become the friend that knows the details about every show or special event like the Olympics when it comes around!
2. Learning a new language
One of my favorite hobbies for women in their 20s is learning a new language. I want to learn so many languages and the first one is Spanish. If you want to start somewhere in your target language, try out apps like Duolingo. Then you can move on to practicing grammar in workbooks and watching TV in your target language. I currently have this Spanish grammar book to help me practice:
3. Window Shopping
This is probably my most common hobby on my days off. Window shopping is when you walk around the mall or a shopping outlet or any store and look at the displays or windows but have no intent to buy.
I go as far as trying on clothes to just see how they look on me and it helps me stay in the know of the current fashion trends and styles. (Let me tell you, y2k is still hanging around). Window shopping also helps me not spend money (ironically), because if I really love a piece, I give myself a week to come back and buy it. In most cases, I don’t come back to buy it.
4. Traveling
I love traveling. It’s a hobby that I always recommend. Save your money and get on a flight to explore a city. I love traveling so much that I hope to eventually have my own travel blog or show because it honestly changed my life. Traveling opens up a whole new world and teaches you about other cultures, countries, food, and more.

Gaming is a huge market. My cousin is a gamer and still has her old games from back in the 90s. Also, there are so many female gamers out, too.
